Be decisive about the movie you want to see. Order the first thing on the menu that appeals to you. Wear underwear that makes you feel beautiful and good. Organize your room. Spend a night in on a weekend, doing decadent spa things. Buy a plant and take care of it. Tell somebody no. Respond to…

  • Sorry for the crappy photo, but here is the recipe for Eddie’s Muffins (adapted from my Aunt Stacey):
Ingredients
1 lb ground turkey
.5 lb ground beef
1/2 bag fresh or frozen veggies (I use a blend of carrots, corn, and peas)
a handful of fresh or frozen blueberries or chopped apples or both
a big spoonful of canned pumpkin or sweet potato (look for BPA-free cans)
2 eggs
1 cup of cooked white rice
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine veggies, blueberries or apples, eggs*, and pumpkin or sweet potato in a blender and blend away! I blended until the blueberries were completely gone. In a large bowl combine the turkey and beef until they are mixed together. Pour in the blended mixture and stir. Then add the rice and stir. (I used a large wooden spoon when I made it, but I might just use my hands next time.) Spoon the meat mixture into an unlined muffin tin. The mixture should perfectly fit into a 12 muffin tin tray. (The grease from the meat may spill out of the muffin tins while baking so I recommend putting your muffin tray on a foil-lined baking sheet.) Bake for 40 minutes or until lightly browned on top. The muffins should be moist in the middle but cut cleanly (see photo).
*You can use the entire egg - shells included - but if you do, make sure to blend the eggs first to get the shells broken up really well.
Storing and Serving
After letting the muffins cool, I put 3 in an airtight container in the fridge for the next three dinners. The remaining muffins get individually wrapped in plastic wrap, packed in freezer bags, and tossed in the freezer until needed.
I only give these to Eddie for dinner - heated and mixed with a little of his dry food.
As with anything you give to your dog, I recommend consulting your vet first. Eddie has a very sensitive belly (like his momma) and he does best on a diet not solely consisting of commercial dry food.

  • I finally tried the much-raved-about Josie Maran Argan Oil Light, and I must admit - it is rave worthy! I know, I know - putting oil on your FACE? Trust me, it is so lovely and light and not greasy. And there is hardly any smell. I’ve also started using it on the back of my hands, which get suuuper dry in the cold months. I recommend it! (And, if you have been waiting to cash in your Sephora Beauty Insider Points like me, they are offering a sample size at the Union Square location.)
